The types of fat you eat may also play a role in your skins appearance. On the one hand, unhealthy fats can contribute to the problem, while healthy fats can help clear it up. Treat your body and your face better by cutting back on unhealthy fats. Your skin will thank you for it. Reduce the amount of saturated fats in your diet. These are the type of fats which are solid at room temperature and are derived from animals, such as milk, cheese, beef, etc. On the other hand Hydrogenated fats, which lead to heart disease should be avoided. Fats found in fish, olive oil, and flax seeds are considered to be healthy fats. Everyday cooking oils, such as vegetable oil, should avoided.

One of the best acne remedies is lemon juice, a cheap item you can buy at any grocery store. The acid contained in lemons, called L-ascorbic acid, cleans your pores and helps fight the bacteria that occur with acne. If you look at the ingredient list of many acne products, in fact, you'll find L-ascorbic acid, but you can get this less expensively with lemon juice. Using lemons to fight acne is easy. Apply lemon juice with a cotton ball to your face, take care not to get the juice into your eyes. Leave the juice on your face and in the morning wash the lemon juice off. For the best results, use fresh lemon juice. Some people find the lemon juice to be too acidic. If you have sensitive skin, consider diluting the fresh squeezed lemon juice with a little water.

Many people think exposing acne to the sun will cure the blemishes but this isn't necessarily true. Acne may be less noticeable after laying out in the sun. This happens because your skin turns either darker or a little more reddish in tone. The acne isn't cured, it's just less obvious. On the other hand, laying out in the sun for too long, may cause skin irritation which will result in more breakouts. So too much sun may result in even worse acne breakouts! Then again, you shouldn't avoid the sun altogether because smaller doses of sunlight is healthy for your skin. Remember, there is not really any excuse to lay in the sunshine for hours on end with the hopes of curing acne because it will not work.

Finding the solution to acne problems can be very difficult but if you keep trying different things, eventually you will find something which works. You just have to be willing to try as many treatments as you can until you find one that does the trick. The acne remedies we've looked at here may work for you, but you have to give them a chance. It's necessary to stick with something for at least a couple of weeks before deciding whether it's working or not.
